Comedian - Bennet Kavanagh - Comedy

Comedian - Bennet Kavanagh - Comedy: The Keyboard Wizard with a Love for Jason Statham

Bennet Kavanagh is a multi-award-winning musical comedian who brings a wonderfully silly, smart, and charmingly chaotic energy to the stage. A true keyboard wizard, he combines his musical talents with a sharp comedic wit to create a style that is utterly his own.  He is an act who can write a killer punchline and a catchy tune with equal skill, leaving audiences delighted and surprised in equal measure. His beautifully self-deprecating style and terrific timing make him a standout performer on the UK circuit.

Based in London, Bennet has been a rising force on the UK stand-up circuit for several years, gigging at some of the biggest and best clubs in the country, including the London and Manchester Comedy Stores and Up the Creek.  His unique talents have also seen him work as a musician for acclaimed improv groups like the Oxford Imps, showcasing his versatility and quick thinking.  His creative mind extends beyond performance; he was shortlisted for the prestigious BAFTA Rocliffe TV Comedy Writing Initiative in 2019 and has written for BBC Radio 4Xtra, marking him as a formidable comedic writer as well as a performer.  His material is often autobiographical, drawing on his own life experiences to create relatable and hilarious content.

As a musical performer, Comedian Bennet Kavanagh has developed a unique style of comedy that is both brilliantly clever and wonderfully absurd. His debut full-length Edinburgh Fringe show, "Crank up the Volume!! (to a Reasonable Volume)," is a perfect example of his offbeat sensibility, focusing on his deep appreciation for the Jason Statham movie franchise "Crank."  As praised by TheReviewsHub.com, his act is "unique and charmingly chaotic," taking any subject in a "completely outlandish direction."  This ability to blend silly concepts with smart execution has drawn comparisons to the great Bill Bailey and even earned a rare compliment from Simon Cowell on "Britain's Got Talent," who admitted, "Actually, that was funny."  He uses his keyboard not just for songs, but also for jingles and sound effects, with one reviewer loving his routine about lift music and the perils of not having Spotify Premium.

Bennet’s trophy cabinet is getting crowded, thanks to a string of major award wins that highlight his exceptional talent. In 2021, he was crowned the winner of the Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year, and in 2020 he won the Amused Moose National New Comic Award (People's Champion).  His songwriting skills have also been recognised on an international level, winning the Comedy Category of the 2021 International Songwriting Competition.  He has also been a finalist in numerous other prestigious competitions, including the Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year and the Musical Comedy Awards, proving that he is consistently one of the most inventive and funny acts on the circuit today.  You can find him across social media, including on TikTok and Instagram, via his website, bennetkav.com.
