Dave Bibby - The only comedian to down a beer from a shoe at Comedy in Your Eye!
Dave Bibby is a true jack-of-all-trades with a flair for making people laugh! He's not just an award-winning comedian, but also a talented actor, presenter, writer, and voice-over artist. While his awards mostly come from his comedic genius, he's also a master of various other creative arts.
On the small screen, Dave graced Channel 4's 'Eye Spy' alongside the renowned Stephen Fry. He also took centre stage in Derren Brown's 'The Push,' an intriguing production featured on Channel 4, now available for streaming on Netflix. Dave's theatrical presence extends to the big screen as well. He portrayed the character Hooper in the gripping feature film ' Knuckledust,'
Dave is a regular on the comedy circuit and performed his debut solo Edinburgh Fringe show Nobody Puts Bibby in the Corner at Underbelly following two sell out runs with his sketch group Lead Pencil – as seen on Comedy Central, BBC Radio 4 and Best New Sketch Act Final. This was followed up with his second show ‘Crazy Cat LAD-y‘ which was a sell-out smash hit of Edinburgh Fringe 2019 and transferred to London’s Underbelly Festival on the Southbank.
Dave performed in The Musical Comedy Awards 2018 Grand Final at the Underbelly Festival and won The WeGotTickets Audience Favourite Award and also made the final of The Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off! competition in 2019 and won ‘Best Male Act’ at the SOLO Festival. Recently he won the New Online Comedian of the Year Award with Nodding Dog and Jokepit comedy. Told you he had won awards.
He has also written for BBC Radio 4 shows ‘NewsJack’, ‘The Show What You Wrote’ and ‘Sketchorama‘ as well as exclusive online content for brands like O2 and BoyleSports.
As a presenter Dave wrote and performed on Yahoo Sport’s 2018 World Cup show ‘The 32‘ and was resident comedian for ‘The Football Show‘, broadcast globally – interviewing the likes of Harry Redknapp, Ray Parlour, Mick McCarthy, Rachel Yankey OBE and many more legends of the beautiful game.
He also co-hosted The Hungry Games alongside Vernon Kay, worked live at Reading Festival, V Festival, The British Heart Foundation’s ‘London to Brighton Bike Ride‘ and hosts over 100 live events all over the world every year including charity auctions, gameshows and Guinness World Records.
In 2023, Dave Bibby took home the Amused Moose award for ‘most fun’ show at Edinburgh Fringe for his fun interactive show Baby Dinosaur at the Banshee Labyrinth.
But his most exciting accolade must be the fact that he is the only comedian at Comedy in Your Eye to have downed a beer from a member of the audience's shoe after a separate Aussie audience member shouted "Shoey"!
