Australian Comedian Felicity Ward Comedy Headshot

Comedy's favourite funny woman from down under, it's Australian comedian Felicity Ward!

Felicity Ward is a multi-award winning comedian, actor and writer who has toured her award-winning, sell-out shows across the world, winning hearts of audiences and critics everywhere she goes.

She is also a Chortle UK Club Comic of the Year nominee and has been nominated in Australia for Best Comedy at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and won Best Australian Act at Perth Comedy Festival, and Sydney Comedy Festival, twice.

Raised in Killcare, New South Wales in Australia, Felicity is a regular TV star down under, appearing in hit series such as Spicks and Specks, Thank God You’re Here, Good News Week and The Ronnie Johns Half Hour, the latter of which she also wrote for as well as performed, formed by her comedy group the 3rd Degree.

It was on that show, a sketch comedy program that started back in 2005, that Ward first grabbed hold of the public eye, as the cult series, which ran for two seasons, totalling 26 episodes, was both award nominated and controversial, with serval sketches causing quite the stir back when they aired. That debate is a likely culprit in why the series was dropped from Channel 10 in 2006.

The comedian continued on with her 3rd Degree member Heath Franklin, performing a popular festival show over the next several years.

The tenured sketch comedian then followed that with a successful stand up career, debuting at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2008 with her first stand up show to instant buzz, winning the Melbourne Airport Award for Best Newcomer.

She’s continued debuting comedy shows regularly since, even taking the act to the UK’s Latitude Festival and Edinburgh Comedy Festival, two of the most prestigious in the art from.

Following the success of her 2014 ABC documentary, Felicity's Mental Mission, Felicity was handpicked by the BBC in 2015 as one of the new faces of UK comedy starring in her own Live From The BBC special - the only Australian selected to be part of this new comedy series. She is a regular face on many other international TV shows including Russell Howard's Good News (UK), Alan Davies' As Yet Untitled (UK), The John Bishop Show (UK), Mock the Week (UK), Gotham Comedy (US), Make You Laugh Out Loud (UK) and Sam Delaney's News Thing (UK)

Felicity has also appeared in two feature films: Any Questions For Ben? (AUS) and The Inbetweeners Movie 2 (UK).

In 2018, Felicity recorded her first BBC Radio 4 series, Appisodes and was a regular co-host of The Guilty Feminist Podcast. Felicity supported Maria Bamford on her UK tour and opened for Amy Schumer at Soho Theatre in London. Felicity taped her first Live At The Apollo Special and smashed through a sold out Edinburgh Fringe Festival season in her show 'Felicity Ward: Busting a Nut'. The show was nominated for the most prestigious comedy award there is: Best Comedy at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2019, Felicity returned to Australia to tour 'Felicity Ward: Busting a Nut'.

In 2024, Felicity was cast as Hannah Howard, the managing director of the packaging company Flinley Craddick, in the Australian version of "The Office," the same character as David Brent/Michael Scott. This adaptation marks the 13th version of the show and notably, the first time a woman was cast in the lead role. The eight-part series depicts Ward's character navigating through tough times when the company's head office shut down her branch, forcing everyone to work from home.
