Jess’s background has shaped her into the razor-sharp comic she is today. Growing up dyslexic, she learned to engage with the world through talking and listening, making her a natural storyteller.  Her Jewish heritage is also a big part of her identity, and she feels that humour and laughter are integral to the culture. Growing up in a large, funny family where being able to hold court was a "currency," she honed her ability to verbally spar and keep up with anyone.  She began her performance journey in 2016, taking improv classes at the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade in New York before pivoting back to her dream of stand-up, a journey that has taken her to stages across the globe, from Toronto to Paris.

Jess’s talent has led to a string of incredible achievements. Her 2025 debut solo show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, "Sex Jokes For Women," received a 5-star review from Theatre Thoughts, which called her "so relatable and clever."  The show was so popular it had an encore performance at the iconic Comedy Store in Sydney.  She has opened for international heavyweights like Fortune Feimster and has been featured in Vogue alongside her comedy hero, Phoebe Waller-Bridge.  A true multi-platform star, she has a rapidly growing online audience and has created digital content for iconic brands like Netflix, Vegemite, and M&M's.  You can find her hilarious content on TikTok and Instagram under the handle @JessFuchs.
