Rajiv Karia - the Comedian making waves on the circuit


Rajiv Karia is a talented and accomplished individual in the world of comedy. He has garnered recognition as an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer, and actor.


With a knack for writing, Rajiv has made significant contributions to radio and television. In fact, he was the esteemed recipient of the BBC Contract Writer Bursary 2021, alongside Tasha Dhanraj. His writing credits include notable shows like The Now Show, The News Quiz, Dead Ringers, Olga Koch: OK Computer, DMs are Open and Alex Edelman’s Peer Group on Radio 4.



Additionally, he has written for television and online platforms such as The Comedy Guide to Life and Bad Advice with Olga Koch on Dave. Moreover, his sitcom pilot script titled "Zoners," which he co-wrote with Ish Ganjoor, was shortlisted for the Amazon Writerslam in 2019.


Rajiv's talent extends beyond writing, as he has also made his mark as an actor. He portrayed the series regular character Jam in the London Live original series called "Content Content." Furthermore, he played Ranj in the Turtle Canyon Comedy film "Grave New World," available on Vimeo and Amazon Prime. You can also catch him in the upcoming series of "Malory Towers" on CBBC and the upcoming Lazy Susan series on BBC Three.



On the London stand-up circuit, Rajiv is an emerging voice. In recognition of his comedic prowess, he was shortlisted for the prestigious BBC New Comedian of the Year award in 2019. In 2021, his work-in-progress show titled "Gallivant," produced by Berks Nest, garnered tremendous success with sold-out shows during its limited run at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar at the Edinburgh Fringe. As VoiceMag put it, Rajiv's humor exhibits a dry wit similar to that of Jack Dee or Romesh Ranganathan. Notably, he has also provided tour support for the talented Olga Koch.



Rajiv Karia is truly a multi-talented individual making waves in the comedy scene, and his future looks incredibly promising.
